My point is play diiferent types of balls and learn how they perform diffently in different situation, cold vs hot days, windy vs calm days, are the yardages different, longer shorter, do the putt different, do they have feel on wedge shots, learn the differences of the balls and it will make you a better golfer for it. I also play the Prov1x for awhile and that ball is like rock and is harder to control with wedge shots for me vs the Vivid and Prov1. The matte finish on the Vivid also grabs the clubface really well with wedges and you can spin the hell out of them. Also the Vivid ball is less effected by the wind.on windy days the Volvik performs awesome, cuts the wind better for some reason. 7iron with a prov1 for me is 167, 7iron with a Vivid is 182.yeah big difference. The Volik ball perfomes completely different then Prov1 and i had to make adjustments to play them. However, I also hate how expensive Prov1's are and tried playing the Volvik Vidid balls for awhile because they are cheaper. I started off playing Prov1 and thats all I played for awhile and I've donated plenty of them to the woods and water but they are very consistent and they have a better feel off the putter face to me then all other balls. In my opinion if you dont make consistent contact with ball then you would be able tell the difference between balls so I would think that would matter first for anyone before they can tell the difference of between types of balls. I think I would be considered a begineer golfer as I've only been playing golf for a little over a year but I'm currently a 9.7 handicap. If your a good ball striker and you make good center clubface contact consistently then yes it matters.
